Seven distinctive beautiful homes will be featured at the seventh annual St. George’s Island Homes Tour from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, February 10, benefiting the St. George Lighthouse Association.
The tour also includes the Cape St. George Lighthouse and Keeper’s House, and the St. George Plantation Pavilion. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 on the day of the visit.
The weekend of the tour will begin with a kick-off event on Friday, February 9, featuring refreshments, door prizes and a special presentation from Janice Becker, sea turtle coordinator at the Apalachicola Estuarine National Research Reserve. This event, free for Tour of Homes ticket holders and $5 for others, will take place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Jay Abbott Fire Station, 324 East Pine Avenue, St. George Island.
Tour tickets are available online at sgitourofhomes.com or at the Lighthouse gift shop on St. George’s Island. Tickets will be available on the day of the visit at Lighthouse Park and the St. George Plantation Clubhouse.
SGLA is a Florida nonprofit corporation organized to preserve, maintain, and promote the Cape St. George Lighthouse. The lighthouse was rebuilt in 2008 after collapsing in 2005. SGLA also built a replica of the lighthouse keeper’s house which includes a gift shop and a museum displaying a replica of the Cape’s third-order Fresnel lens St. George Light, partially funded by Tour of Homes. process.
