BOULEVARD

The beach boulevard at Playa El Agua, Margarita Island, Venezuela stretches for approximately 3 km or 2 miles. While there are open stretches, most of the ocean side is lined by restaurants and shops. They are not all jammed together and as you can see in the photos it's quite appealing.

When we did a recent survey there were 46 restaurants ranging in size from small kiosks selling local food to elaborate restaurants where you can get everything from lobster to paella to steak to pizza - something for every one!! Not all were open at the time of the survey as it is low season in June and many owners take this time for their vacations.

In addition to the many restaurants there are also numerous shops selling everything from postcards to artesania. There are also exchange houses, rental cars, tour agencies, etc., etc. There is even a local tourist police station that is responsible for the security of the area.

We've included 10 photos on this page to give you a general feel for the area. Sorry for those of you with slower modems.
